What means SE?

SE is the abbreviation for Structured Error. This happens when you play Settler 3, e. g. when you quit a game before the map is completely uncovered by all other players.

The game accesses places in the main memory while it is running. If it is not allowed to access an area, this can lead to an error which the game calls a „Structured Error“ and exits itself.

The reason why it accesses the memory area is probably due to the fact that the calculation of the desired memory location went wrong.

The problem could only be solved by the original developers of Settlers 3. A fix by the Settlers 3 community is unlikely.

Within the players there are many guesses in which cases it comes to a Structured Error. It is a fact that it could not be comprehended so far. Therefore it is even more difficult to name possibilities to prevent an SE.
